Welcome!
I went to Norway once. You guys sure do like your black metal. If you tell us some bands you like, we can give you some recommendations. Edited by thellama73 - August 28 2012 at 07:47 |

Well, to be fair, most music everywhere sucks. For me, though, two of my favorites come from Norway and I wish I were closer so I could see them live more often: Circus Maximus and Pagan's Mind.

Hello and welcome. Hope your enjoying the site!
You have to have at least 40 posts before you can participate in polls, at least that's how it was for me when I first started. Considering your from Norway, do you listen, or have you heard of lesser known Norwegian, Prog acts such as Jaga Jazzist, Ulver and Shining? |

Oh, already over halfway there
Heard of Jaga Jazzist and Ulver but again havn't really heard they're music. I probably do that soon. Too bad Norway doesn't have a big prog scene like neighbouring Sweden, could be that instead of all the black metal

You don't like The Flower Kings? Hmmm....but a good list you have there and some of my absolute favorites as well. Norway doesn't have a huge progressive scene, but my favorite Norwegian band is White Willow. There's something incredibly haunting in their music. One of my favorites. Welcome aboard!

Excellent, glad your enjoying them. If your a Fusion guy, look no further. Delve into their catalog as much as you can, if you're really interested; a very rewarding experience. Jaga are just a fantastic blend of so much music that I love - Prog Rock, Post Rock, Jazz of course, and even a clear Electro influence in there as well. Though often regarded as more associated witin the Jazz world, they're extremyly eclectic and diverse, it's really hard to pin them down. Which tunes were listening to anyway?
