Topic: Show off your signatures Posted: April 16 2012 at 11:19 |
I just made a new signature image over the weekend and have SCOURED threads looking for things I might want to respond to so I could show it off. So I thought it would be fun to create a thread where you could show off your signatures.

^^ Very nice, indeed!
Nothing to show off about mine, except that it's knee-slappingly funny.

I did chuckle the first time I saw yours. I wanted to put a couple more bands in mine but couldn't find pictures of just the logo, and am not sure how I'd fit them in either. I suppose I could try cutting them for album covers...I dunno, maybe I'll give it a shot some other weekend.

While we're on the topic, how do you make something like that? I know my wife can do it easily, but she's a graphic artist. What about regular shmoes like me?

Adobe photoshop makes it easy, especially if the images already have the black background. You set up layers for each logo, and photoshop has this magic wand tool that can select an area in the image that is the same color. You use that to select the black background of each individual logo, then use the select drop down to change your selection to the inverse. Now you just have your logo selected, so you can copy that and oaste it into your layer. That's simplified instructions at least. Of course there's resizing and moving around to deal with...

I could probably benefit from familiarizing myself with Photoshop anyway. Seems to be a useful program. Thanks for the tips!

@ A Person -- your bouncing pink pony sig was bouncing in perfect time to the music I was listening to the other day. I sat and watched it intently for a few minutes.

Well, first of all, I cant even find whatever thread you're talking about. Second of all, I LOVE the combination of your screen name with Krypto for an avatar. And finally, the major difference between this thread and a "rate my" thread is that we're just showing off, we really don't CARE if people like our sig's and avatars, we know they're cool.
On a tangent - where's that guy with the animated signature image that combines a bunch if prog album covers - THAT'S gotta be the coolest one I've seen. I wish I had the skills to make something like that!

I could put something interesting in my sig, I suppose, but frankly I just can't be bothered.....

Mine is an excerpt from the Kayo Dot song Marathon. I love Toby Driver's lyrics. Always exceptional.
