Under the influence of similar polls on this forum I would like to know which track on this classic Yes album is considered to be the best. It would be interesting because they are all of equal length.

My choice would be Ritual - Nous Sommes Du Soleil, It develops nicely, it moves forward the whole track through, whereas The Revealing Science Of God keeps repeating itself endlessly, WAY to long for 20 minutes.

The High The Memory would be second

The Ancient the worst

The Remembering - High the Memory is the track that I like the most.

Ritual is the best track Yes ever recorded, IMO.

The Revealing Science of God - Dance of the Dawn gets my vote, but I think all the tracks are GREAT!

The Revealing Science of God, that little guitar/keyboard interplays makes the whole album worth the cost of it!!

RSOG for me, Wakeman's keyboard are excellent. (I reckon "The Ancient" will come last by a mile!)

I really like The Remembering.

I like the songs in this order:

1. The remembering

2. Ritual - Nous Sommes du Soleil

3. The Revealing Science of God - Dance of the Dawn

4. The Ancient - Giants Under the Sun

All four pieces can only be treated as a single composition. It is the highest attainment in progressive music to date- most of us were not ready for it though

One of the best epic Yes pieces - constantly evolving!

Tough choice between sides 1, 2 and 4. I've gone for The Remembering because I love the middle "don the cap and close your eyes" bit and the ending is awesome.

Is this album better or worse than relayer?

Depends who you ask. There are only two sides on Tales- love it or hate it. Most agree that CTTE is a masterpiece. Tales was the natural progression from CTTE, but it split the fan base (even the band). The intro even sounds similar to the intro on CTTE. To the casual listener Relayer has more cohesion than Tales, but to me Relayer is a flashy mirror shining against the true masterpiece of Yes' career.

I can't really decide. They are all superb, but if I 'ad to choose my favorite would be "The Remembering."
And I am not frightened of dying, any time will do, I
don't mind. Why should I be frightened of dying?
There's no reason for it, you've gotta go sometime.
I never said I was frightened of dying.

Tales is an awesome album. Probably my second favorite (maybe favorite) yes album. I have to go with the Remembering as favorite. There is something about the shifts in the song that are genius. It also brings back good memories (no pun intended) of my senior trip to Hersheypark when I listened to Tales on the bus. This girl in front of me wanted to see what I was listening to and it definitely scared her . I think she heard the weird Ancient guitar part haha.
