Any fans of the short-lived seventies German group Jail that released one studio album in 1976 called You Can Help Me and a single called "Julie"?
I never knew of them at the time, but discovered them while perusing the Triumvirat.net site in the early 2000s.
They are a band that featured former Triumvirat musician-singer-songwriter the late Helmut Koellen as a guest musician, which is what interested me in them, as Koellen is my favorite musician.
There are other important guest musicians, like Jurgen Fritz, Jaki Leibezeit, and Roland Schaeffer, among others.
They attempt in their sound to merge a more mainstream style with some progressive textures, and pull it off amazingly well, their record is catchy, but not blatantly mainstream.
Biographical detail on the band is hard to come by, even on the net, and i would love to hear things about them from other PA members. How did they fare in Germany, in terms of popularity? Were they a touring band way back when?
For me, Jail's only album always has me shaking my head, "man, this should have been a hit!"
