just wanted to introduce myself. i am a music lover of all genres and by no means am i a prog pro. i stumbled across this site when i googled prog bands. i listen to and collect a lot of different music but i guess i should list the prog bands i listen to:

pink floyd, yes, king crimson, rush,procupine tree, opeth... to name a few.

edit: i have a punk/metal bachground so a lot of the prog i listen to is of a heavier nature but is not limited to it. i love the atmospheric and acoustic/piano parts of prog music. i am a huge fan of atmospheric music general. i love brian eno and daniel lanois is my favorite producer. like i said i listen to all forms of music. from black metal to blue grass to independant hip hop. and everything in between!

thanks! yeah, i really do love most music. there's nothing worse than someone who claims to be a music lover but really only likes a few groups or a genre or two. especially when you ask them what they like and they say "everything". so you ask them if if they like this or that and they say "no,i hate hip hop" or "i hate country". supposed music lovers saying they hate a certain style of music based on what they have heard from the radio or mass media. i would hate most music too if the radio or MTV was my only source of music. even i like some stuff that is "popular". most people don't know that the world of music is infinite!

welcome Odin, with your taste in music, you're bound to find a lot of interesting stuff on this site... enjoy...
