Just for giggles I decided to make a Pirate metal song.

Tell me what you think:

Haha, great job.

The ending was cool, same criticism as your last song.
Try developing the drums more.

The keyboard parts added a lot to the theme, and redo the "chorus". The "argh i'm a pirate" part needs to go.

What would you suggest with the drums? Better fills, complex rhythms and such?

you should really try to listen and doo some research into sea-men rock and sailor rock, A Salty Dog and Home by Procol Harum (Whailing Storys) and Wreck by Gentle Giant,

Yeah, I think he means that they're very simple right now.

I found this legitimately funny.

Correct, mainly the rhythms though.

Well that was the main objective. LOL

My friend is working on a bassline for me, and we are gonna make a cheesy video to bring it to life.

As a drummer, I can tell you that you basically use two single hits along all the song, making some variatoions and elaborating them would be nice.

Now, don't delete the "Arggh I'm a pirate" chorus, it made laugh and humour is always great.

Thanks man, My little 15 year old brother is on the drums and he is still quite new to them and has only been playing for alittle over a year.  He is getting better though. He played all the keyboard and guitar lead in this song.

Glad you liked the chorus, I don't plan on deleting it cause I think its awesome. Its not like any of the song shows too much lyrical genius anyway. Big smile

Oh yeah, I meant to say that I like the chorus too, but it might be good to rerecord it to make your voice sound more like you're singing.

Think it would be cooler if I layered a few tracks to make it sound like a crowd saying it?

Why don't you listen Pirates by Emerson Lake & Palmer?

Greg Lake modulates his  voice to make it sound adventurous (with some strong sections) as in an Errol Flynn movie, He's energetic but doesn't try to sound as pirate stereotype.

The vocals start around the third minute.

Iván

Sweet I'll check that out when I get on some good nets.
