Biggest Prog Festival in France and completely FREE.... right on the Atlantic sea side (south of Bordeaux) 18-20/08.
Mix of Prog fans and tourists, more suntanned girls than usual for prog concerts...."Wanna have a look at my CD collection right here in my tent?".... Big smile

Not exactly far from Paris (yet, a two-hours train trip), but it's in concurrence with my 9 to 5 job.

By the way, thinking about the original post... "Wanna come with me see a stick drum duo? Huh huh huh".

I wouldn't go see any of these bands even if they played in my neighbourhood. Embarrassed

^I'm not enthusiastic about Panzeballet, but I could try Eclat and the Enid.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Holding Pattern,Finisterre and The Enid. One little regret:no psychedelic bands.

It was great!I came back today because the last day wasn't the best for me(Of course I like Beardfish very much but since I've seen them I left).First of all:Holding Pattern,I enjoyed them.I had never listened to their sound before.I must admit there were some technical problems but Tony Spada is a great guitarist and they play good symphonic rock with jazz fusion influences(3,75/5).Eclat was a great discovery:outstanding prog mixed with 1st class jazz fusion,Alain Chiarazzo(guitar)is awesome.Le cri de la terre is a magnificent record(love Paul Whitehead's artwork)(4,5/5).I really didn't like Jellyfiche but they are very good musicians,Finisterre was good but I prefer them on record. Now I'm coming to the top:The Enid,intelligent/skillful/complex/moving music.Top notch symphonic prog with space rock. The sound was great and the final song got me beyond  space and time,Robert John Godfrey is The King!(6/5,if it is possible!).I must admit that In the region of summer stars is marvellous!

By the way,Gungfly worked really well for me:70's classic rock,a slice of psychedelic rock, progressive rock  influences+sunshine pop.(4/5)
