Firstly.....I am in no way accusing anyone at Burning Shed of wrongful doing.
This past Sunday I tried to purchase the Porcupine Tree Anesthetize Live 4-LP package. I don't buy vinyl online because of the high possibility of damage in shipping but this issue cannot be found in stores and any retailer I spoke to wanted to almost double the purchase price.
As I completed the online purchase my card was declined, with no reason. I thought it very strange, more than enough funds in my account........So I thought hmmm, maybe my bank is blocking overseas purchases. No biggie, I will call them Monday I told myself.
Well my bank called me Monday...they closed my account as there were three pending charges from Sunday 7/31 on my statement that to them looked very suspicious. None of the vendor names was Burning Shed, rather 2 were from the firm that handles the online payment process, RBS World Pay......the other I have no clue who it is, neither does my bank.
Seems that RBS WorldPay has had some issues in the past years with personal information leaks, their database probably hacked or compromised. I did a Google search and read some but not all of what I saw.....but its enough for me to feel comfortable in what my bank did.
As stated above, I do not think it has anything to do with Burning Shed, although the payment processor they are using does not seem to have good reputation maybe? Enough that my bank has a block on them.
Maybe others here have had no issues, but I thought I would at least bring this up since Burning Shed is the direct online store for many progressive rock artists we all enjoy.
Main message is becareful with online purchases........dig deep to find out WHO is actually taking your credit card information and processing the payment.
