The boys have just spent a weekend in rehearsal ready for their appearance in Reichenbach at the weekend. This will be John Jowitt’s first gig with them since his recent return to the fold. Clive: ‘It’s a fairly festival friendly set list with plenty of old favorites. We will also include a bit of new material from the new album.’ Work is also continuing on the writing of ‘The Seventh Degree of Separation’ album, which is still intended for a November release, to coincide with the tour. The tracks are really starting to take shape now, with some intriguing titles including ‘The Rapture’, ‘Catching the Bullet’ and ‘Close your Eyes’. Clive: ‘This album is a dark and sometimes surreal journey to places we might rather avoid. Even at this stage, the power and the atmosphere of the music is shining through!’ 4th Belgium-Verviers http://www.spiritof66.com/ |

Is this title a reference to the Dream Theater one? Anyway that's a good news, finally a new one coming soon...

Yeah, thats a pretty terrible album title. But good to hear they are producing something new though.

I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect. |

It's probably in reference to this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Six_degrees_of_separation and not DT's album

The latest from Clive Nolan:
Things are hotting up nicely with the new Arena album (‘The Seventh Degree of Separation’). The drums have been recorded, and John Jowitt is currently in ‘Nomad Studio’ working on Bass. Clive, John Mitchell and Paul Manzi will soon be back at ‘Thin Ice Studio’ laying down vocal tracks. Clive: ‘I’ve finally just about finished writing the lyrics for ‘7th Degree’, so it’s time to integrate them into the music of the album. This is always one of the most stimulating parts of making an album.’ Don’t forget to book for tickets for the Arena tour in November. This will also be your chance to buy the initial copies of their new album. |

The latest on the new album:
Hello Arena Fans!
At last the new Arena album is finished and will be released on the 28th November 2011. Our seventh album is a concept album, which explores the last hour of life and the first hour beyond. It’s truly dark in the way that only Arena can do! It's available now for pre-order exclusively at Verglas. The Seventh Degree Of Separation special edition package is a 56 minute long, 13 track cd in a 3 leafed digibook with a 28 page pullout booklet packed with original artwork + a bonus 50 minute DVD “The making of The Seventh Degree Of Separation”, where each member of the band gives you some insight into the process they go through to make the music. The tracklist is as follows: 01. The Great Escape 02. Rapture 03. One Last Au Revoir 04. The Ghost Walks 05. Thief Of Souls 06. Close Your Eyes 07. Echoes Of The Fall 08. Bed Of Nails 09. What If? 10. Trebuchet 11. Burning Down 12. Catching The Bullet 13. The Tinder Box Clive: “I must say the album is sounding great; very powerful and atmospheric. The music to me is another part of the Arena evolution, although there is still that intrinsic ‘Arena-sound’ pervading the album.” This special edition package is now available to buy only at www.verglas.com and you will receive your special edition package before the official release date. Or you can come and buy it at one of the tour dates below. Please note that you will not be able to buy this in any shop or any online outlet except www.verglas.com before 28th November, or get it at one of the gigs. Come to the Arena tour and see a fantastic stage show with our new vocalist and music! You can also hear a sample of the album at www.arenaband.com We invite you to spread the word about the album and tour on any social media and forum you can think of. Much appreciated! We hope you enjoy the new music and see you at one of the gigs! Mick, John, Paul, Clive and John PRE-ORDER NOW AT WWW.VERGLAS.COM! Edited by Easy Livin - October 21 2011 at 13:01 |

Ive been giving this album a go a youtube, i didnt know Arena had a new album out until a few days ago lol, i know this has been out since the autunm of last year. Its their first album in 6 years i believe?. Im sorry to say this, but i think Arena have lost their edge since the Contagion album. I didnt think Peppers Ghost was all that great either.
And this is not because "ive grown out of Arena", simply because i listened to the Peppers Ghost album before Contagion, I only got the Contagion album only 2-3 years ago, and at least 50% of the songs on that album considerably stand out, on Peppers Ghost only 1 or 2 did. The song Burning Down stands out quite a bit on the new album, but that was it really. They got a new vocalist havent they?, the singer sounds rather different from Rob Sowden.
