Sure, they're listed here. But hijacking the entire home page for their ad is obnoxious. |

Yeah, I understand that, but Max took care of that crappy Kiss ad a while back.

What Iron Maiden ad? All I ever get is the ad for an Amon Amarth concert.

The new Iron Maiden greatest hits CD - the one that's laughably from 1990-2010? That one. It's red with a grim reaper or some such. It's plastered all over the site when I view it. I also get the same ad for these hardcore underground death metal bands like Cause for Revelation or Haemorrhage or Black Tusk or whatever.

I think it depends on the country where you are in. I don't see any Maidens.
Anyway, don't watch horror movies at night.

Interesting enough, I did not even know they were releasing a greatest hits album until I saw it on the home page (what is this, an annual thing for Iron Maiden now???)

Max added those two banner ads to the front page for anything, and you're only getting Iron Maiden specifically because that's the new flavor of the month ad. They're just normal banner ads, so comparing them to the KISS ads isn't fair. I agree they're another addition to PA that's annoying and ugly, but you gotta pay the bills. I wasn't even getting that ad in that space initially. |

I didn't either. Next year it'll be 'Best of the Beast II - the Blaze years feat. Bruce Dickinson' or 'Antic Hay - the rebellion' or 'Here's some more stupid stories about comic books, jet fights, and World War II'. I can't wait for their power metal recount of the battle of Anglo-Zanzibar, where one brave British soldier was (not fatally) wounded in glorious combat. Or how about their re-telling of another famous poem? I can't wait for their take on Edgar Allen Poe! As I sit here watching, weary, And my space helmet is bleary You take my life, I'll take yours too. blast your laser, I'll run you through Or something like that. |

I think it looks pretty cool. It's nice to change the scenery one in a while.

Why not prove my actions universally erroneous, Walter? Can you scientifically and objectively prove that what you do is superior to what I do? And since when did thievery nullify one's intellect? If Albert Einstein robbed convenience stores, would atomic weapons be nullified as well? Show some goddamn consistency in your logic for once. If you're going to believe in pure hogwash, why not make it seem reasonable?

>This is not 4chan >Please don't do that I deliberately don't use Adblock (well I would have to use a competitor since I use Opera) because I actually like the sites I visit and I want to be able to afford to continue running. It doesn't matter that I'll never want to click them, just them loading counts for the payment. Ars Technica even had some drama when they temporarily blocked people using Adblock. You're not smarter if you're adblocking everything, you're just leeching. |

Iron Maiden is OK and the adds for them made a workmate go out and buy their latest compilation album. I will review it...... ........ But what really cracks me up with laughter is the add for the latest Haemorrhage album Relapse Records has just released. I know the band well and their music is as much prog as........ sorry, I cannot find anything less prog than this Spanish grindcore band. Advertising that band/album is like advertising dating service girls who is seeking active, exciting men. Then again. The adds pays for the website and good on M@X for getting that add despites of it making me crack up. And good on M@X to get the Iron Maiden add which is highly relevant for ProgArchives. I may also go out and get that compilation album myself. In fact; I will. Thanx M@X. |

It's gone now.
It's not the ad itself that bugged me. It's the widening of the page, and adding the huge picture behind that messed up the screen for me.
