I think the vintage keyboards and the less flamboyant guitar solos contribute to not classify IQ neo prog anymore! any thoughts?

I love neo-prog, so it was a non-issue for me, but I think this albums organic production and vintage technology seperates it from the Pallas-types.

I find it difficult to distinguish between what is 'neo' and what isn't.Most IQ albums I suspect are NOT.The 2 that I suppose would be :The Wake and The Seventh House. After that I'm not sure.Does it matter anyway?!

Call it whatever you want! It's an excellent album, that's what I call it.

You must be all IQ lovers.

I have lost track since I was very disappointed of the cd "are you sitting comfortabely?".
I like the first two very much. Are the latter cd's any good. The reviews show they have pulled themselves back together, so I was thinking about getting Subterranea.

Any advice?

Under: Yes, some of the latter albums are incredible, Dark Matter being a real gem, IMO. Also Subterranea is well worth checking out. I am also not very interested in the Nomzamo/Are You Sitting period.

Thanks! I think I start with Subterranea. I have a thing for concept albums. I will go to the concert for their new album later on this year. It will be my first IQ concert ......

I am a fan of neo prog but don't really know if Dark Matter is neo or not.Doesn't matter though, whatever you classify it as it's still a damn fine album.

For me it represents the neo-prog sound.

As all will know, I am a huge fan of the "neo-prog" sound and music. And for me Dark matter. as all IQ music represents the neo-prog sound in the best possible way, only surpassed by the first couple of albums made by Marillion and Arena, and equall to Pendragon. (of course there are other bands, but for me those are the top bands in the neo-progressive field)

You probably have Tales From The Lush Attick

Subterranea is brilliant, highly recommended.

Best album so far is Dark Matter and Ever is good also. If you haven't got it The Wake is pretty decent (understatement, but I am a fan)
