I am traveling to London mid next month. Coming from a small country in Asia where decent prog concert is pretty rare (with exception of Dream Theater and some other prog-tinged metal bands who came here quite regularly), I definitely want to spend some time in venues with good prog music, fesitvals might even be better.

I searched the topics for Prog Gigs, Tours and Festivals but found it pretty hard to use. I think it might be easier if there is a calendar (as in Outlook or Google Calendar, etc) and all gigs are rounded up and can be easily searched by date. Sort of online Time Out for Prog Gigs only, if you will. If such calendar exists, i havent seen it and will be glad if someone can point me in the right direction.

Apologies if this has been raised before. I did some searches but havent found anything close.

Like I always do, I'll recommend you Last.fm Events. You only need to set the location on London and start browsing the announced concerts. You can even set a date from which to start browsing (instead of browsing from today's events). Here's how it looks when set to show concerts in London starting from May 15: http://www.last.fm/events/+place/United+Kingdom/London?sort=date&startdate=2011-05-15

Hi, thanks for the advice. I never got into last.fm but tried it out after your suggestion. Unfortunately 'progressive rock' is not a valid search category (dont know why).

Too bad during my visit the only thing that interests me is Roger Waters' The Wall Live concert, but they are fully booked anyway.

^ If you use last.fm for scrobbling the music you listen to, it will highlight in the concert list the concerts you might be interested in!

Personally, I find that LastFM tool utter rubbish.
Bigger on the inside.

I find it lacking in some aspects too, but I don't know anything else to come close to it.
