That's not nice ... and you know that someone like him could easily say ... that's why I am on the stage and you are not!

Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

Sherwood posted this on his Facebook page:
"Actually it's not CIRCA: just YET.... that comes later in the year, these dates are for the Sherwood/Kaye Project Shows."

I guess I'm the only one that finds it very strange that he plays Yes music that not he or Kaye have anything to do with. What great artist plays other peoples prog music except tribute bands?

Prog is developing along a similar path to classical music, wherein some pieces will be known as standards. Here's a few examples of prog bands interpreting & playing music composed by others:
ELP - "Fanfare for the Common Man" and "Hoedown" by Aaron Copland, and Mussorgsky's "Pictures At An Exhibition" King Crimson - "Devils Triangle" (conveniently borrowed from Gustav Holst!) Yes - "America" by Paul Simon I've also seen Dream Theater playing Yes standards (and doing a damn good job at it!), so if legitimate past members of the Band That Used To Be Called Yes want to play any of the catalog, and they do justice to it, I'm fine with it. After all, ABWH was, for all practical purposes, a Yes tribute band!! |
