The organisers of Summer's End have teamed up with the Classic Rock Society to present a new festival, Fused, taking place in Lydney, Gloucestershire, on April 1, 2 & 3.

Fused brings together twelve of the UK and Europe's finest Progressive Metal and Symphonic Rock bands. The full festival line-up features german metal legends Vanden Plas, Threshold the UK's best prog metal band, dutch goth metallers Kingfisher Sky, Toxic Smile (DE), Hanging Doll (UK), To-Mera (UK), Haken (UK), Day Six (NL), Loreweaver (IT), After-Math (UK), Winter in Eden (UK) and Hookah the Fuzz (UK).

The festival promises three days of superb rock music, excellent musicianship and a terrific, intimate atmosphere in the 400 capacity Lydney Town Hall.

Getting Vanden Plas to the UK is a coup in itself. To get them, Threshold, Kingfisher Sky and the rest of this fabulous line-up into this small, rural venue is extraordinary!

The Summers End Festival, which will take place at Lydney Town Hall on October 7, 8, 9 2011, is pleased to announce the first two bands to take the stage this year.

We are thrilled that Arena will headline the Saturday night of the Festival.  The band will need no introduction to most prog fans, and with Messrs Pointer, Nolan, Mitchell and Salmon now joined by the superb Paul Manzi on lead vocals and a new album in the works, this year will see the band active once more.  This will be a rare chance to see the band live in the UK in 2011.

Following the hugely successful appearance of Phideaux in 2010, we are delighted to announce that we have another US band this year, the terrific K2.  The brainchild of bassist Ken Jaquess, the band also boasts the talents of Spock’s Beard’s much-loved Ryo Okumoto on keyboards plus new members Josh Gleason (vocals) and Karl Johnson (guitar), who all perform on the band’s excellent second album “Black Garden” released last year.

Don’t forget our Sister Festival FUSED – prog and symphonic metal – taking place at Lydney on April 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Early booking is recommended!  Full details at: www.fusedfestival.co.uk

Further news of The Summers End Festival, which will takes place at Lydney Town Hall on October 7th, 8th, 9th 2011.

This year we have decided to put 3 day tickets on sale immediately for those that want to get their tickets sorted out good and early, and who are willing to take a leap of faith on the continued quality of the festival!  There will be 2 types of early ticket, and these will go on sale at Midnight on Sunday 27th March :

Sponsors Tickets.  Priced £85. Those adopting the “Sponsors” package will receive a 3 day ticket to the festival, an exclusive “sponsors” T shirt, and at least one other exclusive Festival-related goodie to be confirmed.  It’s also a brilliant way of contributing to the organisation of the Festival.

Early Bird Tickets.  With 3 day tickets likely to be priced AT LEAST £60 we are offering an early bird 3 day ticket at £55 up until 1st May 2011, when normal 3 day ticket prices will apply and Saturday / Sunday tickets will also become available.

We are also excited to report 3 more acts for the Festival:

Sunchild, from the Ukraine, are one of several projects to feature prolific and talented keyboard played Antony Kalugin.  This symphonic prog band have now released 3 albums, including last year’s magnificent “The Wrap”.  This will be their first live appearance in the UK.

Our two opening bands this year both come from Europe.  Firstly, Holland’s brilliant Casual Silence bring their metal-tinged prog to the Festival.  The band released their first of 4 albums in 1997, with their latest, “Vertical Horizon” was just released.

Invertigo are a German band formed in 2007.  Their debut album “Next Stop Vertigo” released in 2010, is one of the finest we have heard in recent years, combining dynamic prog with brilliant songwriting.

Erm it's actually John Jowitt now unless they switched again. Might want to correct that as to not disappoint the many Ian Salmon fans that might be coming.

Summers End Festival Announces Caravan

The Summers End Festival , which takes place on 7th, 8th and 9th October at is thrilled to announce that Canterbury legends Caravan will close the Festival on Sunday 9th October.
