The Summers End Festival, which will take place at Lydney Town Hall on October 7, 8, 9 2011, is pleased to announce the first two bands to take the stage this year. We are thrilled that Arena will headline the Saturday night of the Festival. The band will need no introduction to most prog fans, and with Messrs Pointer, Nolan, Mitchell and Salmon now joined by the superb Paul Manzi on lead vocals and a new album in the works, this year will see the band active once more. This will be a rare chance to see the band live in the UK in 2011. Following the hugely successful appearance of Phideaux in 2010, we are delighted to announce that we have another US band this year, the terrific K2. The brainchild of bassist Ken Jaquess, the band also boasts the talents of Spock’s Beard’s much-loved Ryo Okumoto on keyboards plus new members Josh Gleason (vocals) and Karl Johnson (guitar), who all perform on the band’s excellent second album “Black Garden” released last year. Don’t forget our Sister Festival FUSED – prog and symphonic metal – taking place at Lydney on April 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Early booking is recommended! Erm it's actually John Jowitt now unless they switched again. Might want to correct that as to not disappoint the many Ian Salmon fans that might be coming.

Summers End Festival Announces Caravan
The Summers End Festival , which takes place on 7th, 8th and 9th October at is thrilled to announce that Canterbury legends Caravan will close the Festival on Sunday 9th October.
Caravan will need few introductions to Prog fans. Since their inception in the late 60s, the band, led by singer / guitarist Pye Hastings and multi-instrumentalist Geoffrey Richardson, has become synonymous with fabulous song-writing and jazz/prog instrumental excursions. Having been on hiatus for a few years, they will be making a return to live performance in 2011, and this will be a rare opportunity to see the band in such an intimate setting this year. This completes our Sunday evening line up. Caravan and Magenta should make for quite a closing evening, we hope you agree. Bands already announced: Arena (UK) – Saturday Headliner Magenta (UK) – Sunday Special Guest K2 (USA) Don’t forget that 3 day tickets are already on sale via www.summersend.co.uk .
