Ahhh yes, the Musicians Institute in Hollywood CA.

I've met people who went there.

On the one hand, you'll learn TRUCKLOADS of technical information and such, but no school can EVER teach you how to play MUSICALLY from your heart, just keep that in mind.

There'll be tons of players there, you may even wind up in a band before you can bat an eyelid.

Also, that part of LA that it's located in is NOT pretty by any means, that whole metropolis is downright UGLY (been there MANY times meself and used to live in LA) and it's VERY expensive to live there.

But if you can look past that and have sufficient financial resources, it may prove to be a very helpful experience for you in terms of just sheer technique and information

I know both former teachers and former students from Musician's Institute. It's an OK place to start. The former student is now at Berklee School of Music in Boston....the former teacher is my own private teacher. I can tell you one thing....the student didn't get what he was after and he is a dedicated hardcore musician hungry to learn.

Scott Henderson went there and wound up teaching there for a long while (he might still on a part-time basis), he's the first one that comes to mind.
