Topic: avatar switching problem Posted: November 25 2010 at 04:56 |
I had some difficulties to upload a new avatar: I go to Member Control Panel - Edit Profile. Then I click on Avatar upload. Then I select an image (from the file manager). Then I click on ok and nothing happens. The avatar is not changed. Only if I somehow find out the actual address of the image and copy it into the http:// field, the avatar acually changes. (I sound like a nasty software tester, sorry )

I have the same problem too and other people have reported it informally.

Are you swapping Avatar or uploading a new one?
If you are uploading you must upload it from your own hard drive.

Ok I understand. You choose an image from the left but it doesn't work. same happened here.
Upload it again.

The upload itself from my harddrive works. It is ony the switching from the list of uploaded images, that does not work.
(I used a workaround: right click on the image, copy its progarchives address and paste it in the http address field.)
(And, Snow Dog, I liked your dog avatar more...)

Your workaround worked for me too. Another problem is I can't delete files from the file manager anymore.

Also: I cannot access my previous thread: File Manager - can't delete files. It gives me the error page:
www.progarchives.com had a problem - Web Server thinks your Browsers request was malformed or contained bad syntax

Yes it was. I think it was the first things I did as a newbie: finding an apropriate avatar. I often uploaded and deleted files...
