Ok so i use a B&W Nautlius 805, the best little loudspeaker there ever was.

A Thule SPIRIT IA150B...great integrated amp at a affordable price THULE really knows how to make amps.

A simple NAD C555 LP-player just so i can play them good old vinyl records

Also uses a THULE Spirti DVA150B dvd player wich is one of the best sounding dvd player out there at that price.

And finally i have recently got a PANASONIC PT-AE700E wich is just the best projector out there in that price class and a grandview 16:9 105" screen to accompany it.

Although it is mainly meant to play cd,s and vinyls it is great for watching movies on, i also concider upgrading it with a 12" b&w sub

To be honest, Thule is not so bad, but only average...
I even prefer Nad or Rotel as integrated amp...

I always advice Rega planar3 as cheap turntable.
Nad is only good for cheap cd players and integrated amps, that's all.

On another hand, BW 805 is good, keep it!

For you sub, i don't know how much centimeters 12''do, but 38cm is the MINIMUM to reproduce extreme low freq. Below that, there are only bad sub which make "false low" (bom bom).

I would better advice a good Magnat or Velodyne for sub.
But, do what you want!

Yep i thought about a NAD integrated as i had one before. but i have seen some tests with Thule and B&w combined and they seemed to work fantastic together. Also he adviced a quite big amp (150w) Also the best musical sub (IE as far from cervin vega you can get) i think was a english company that specialized in making active subs. But i have unfourntatly forgot the name .

You dont remember it by any chance?

Anyways heard of gryphon? Simply the best integrated amps with Pure class A and is really really huge ofcourse to lead off all the heat. As for cables i use tara labs helix 8 and i think they work just nicely

I don't see which english brand's sub you talk about.

Yes, tube amps works fantastic in the highs, Jolida 302 is the best quality/price device of all hifi!
It works quite as well as Conrad Jonhson, which cost 5X times more!!!

Put that on your BW, instead of the thule, with a good sub to reinforce the low, and enhance image, dynamic and it will be real good.

Tara labs is not bad in budget cables, like QED.

Do you use vibrations cancellers?

Btw, forget Mc intosh, it has nothing to do anymore with the legendary 60's/70's brand, it has been sold to the japs, who only keep the look.

Ahem the cables i use is not exactly budget but i think they work nice.

I only use spikes on the speaker stands. And although i know them tubes are nice the good ones cost abit and although they distort softer than transistor type ones i need 100w amps and that is pretty hard with a tube amp

Yes but tubes watts have nothing to do with transsistor ones!
What the hell do you need 100 watts?
Maybe you should turn on bi amp if your BW have need so much power!

This one is 100 watts (tube watts ) and smoke everything!

How much does your cables costs?

Mine are 600dollars per meter in modulation with WBT topline and 250 per meter in loudspeakers cables.
You need to bi-cable and even double the low cable (3 cables per speaker)

Heh yep i know that when tube amps you rarely need to go above 45watts, anyways yes i use bi-wiring and my cables cost 200$ pr meter. Yep yep its not much compared to the air cable series but it is good enough for me

Anyways the big daddy b&w nautilus required a minimum of 4 integrated amps on no less than 250w each!

Pair of Wharfedale 8.2's
Wharfedale Powercube 12" Sub
Old Sony amp (no idea of specs)
Old JVC CD player

Nothing special, but for the price I got the stuff at it's awesome.

The system you recommended in that thread would cost atleast 3 times more than what I payed for my setup. Plus here in Australia it's impossible to find some brands of audio equipment locally and I don't feel like importing. I will definately be getting a new system in the future when I can get some more money, but for now my system serves it's purpose well.

OK. But maybe on occasion, you can find it at cheap price.

I know a good austrian brand: Melody, which makes cheap but good tube amps. Their big preamp is very good also.
