Topic: Barry Cleveland - Hologramatron (2010) Posted: August 14 2010 at 06:28 |
Fantastic. One of the best albums I listen in 2010. You can find many Prog moments in this album. Great moments. Cleveland play with genres and makes modern prog music. Song "Lake of Fire" have great vocal with power on voice and style. Guitars playing and sounding of other instruments is very powerful and strange. He creat his own world with use arrangment and mix. I cant say wath is genre of this album. Eclectic psychedelic post modern prog. I think this album has potential to be masterpiece.

Did he work with Emerald Web? I believe I have a cd with Cleveland and the web. Is this the same person?

I'm ancient and I might be thinking of the Barry Cleveland that worked with Kat Epple. I'm very thrown off by this. I don't mean to sound ignorant.....I am just trying to remember.

Not to worry, your memory is functioning just fine. Emerald Web (Bob Stohll & Kat Epple) and I were both signed to Larry "Synergy" Fast's Audion Recording Company in 1986, and B&K played on my Mythos album. We also recorded a cassette-only release together called Aqua Regia. Since that time I've altered course musically several times, getting more into synths (Voluntary Dreaming), world-fusion (Volcano), and improvisation (with Cloud Chamber) along the way. My latest album, Hologramatron, is considerably heavier and more varied than anything I've done previously, and features vocals for the first time. I hope that clears things up. Cheers! B.
