I always knew Can was a wonderful live band, but I think this proves it:

Posted a few days ago, and only 19 views so far! It's in four parts, and reaches about 35 minutes in length!
While it's called "Up the Bakerloo" I think titles are superfluous, it seems to be total improv. It's available on some sort of semi-bootleg called "Radio Waves". I don't think I do it justice trying to describe it, just go listen to it for yourself!

Hi,

At that time, titles and much of the stuff that people did on stage was not ... designed to be rock'n'roll which is a commercial idea more than anything else.

Can was into the improvisational element of it all to the point of having taken several pieces of music and selcting 3 or 4 parts at random and ... put them together and call it something or other. Tago Mago is put together that way almost exclusively and what you are seeing (I haven't checked it out) is probably from this period or possibly just before that. I think the majority of stuff I have seen had Damo in it.
Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

I doubt it ... Damo knows who I am and we have met, and I have photographed him several in a couple of shows! This guy has no idea, I keep thinking! Wink
