Topic: TV Chefs Poll Nominations Posted: July 11 2010 at 10:21 |
OK, I see we don't have a poll on this yet unless I missed it. Just a few slots in a poll. I'll kick it off with Graham Kerr Julia Child Jeff Smith Justin Wilson Giada DeLaurentis Martin Yan Guy Fieri Anne Burrell (have to pair those two due to the hair ) Paula Deen Emeril LaGasse Bobby Flay Alton Brown

Keith Floyd (RIP) he is the one and only, the one to introduce the concept TV cheff to bigger audience, I also like the naked sheff,
I also admire Gordon Ramsay (even though he could wash he's mouth with some soap)
from Norway I would like to promote Arne Brimi from Lom who have be'n on TV and are inspirational
and Eivind Hellström whom is a real gastronom, many good norwegian chefs.

Well, Jeff Smith I actually knew him (he presided over my brother/sister-in-laws wedding). Graham Kerr was a great drunken chef in his day. And as mentioned in another thread, ol' Emeril can surely cook a large chub of baloney. So probably Emeril, though that Giada is surely more easy on the eyes

Can you tell me where we're headin'?
Lincoln County Road or Armageddon.

Keith Floyd, without any question.
Other brits:
Heston Blumenthal ... no one in their right mind would ever try cooking one of his "recipes" at home, but his programmes are very entertaining.
Jamie Oliver ... an annoying little *** but he can damn well cook
James Martin ... too heavy on the cream and butter but his recipes seldom fail
The Hairy Bikers ... not really cooks, but they can cook
Her Royal Highness Queen Delia Smith ... more like a home economics teacher than a cook, but gets the job done
Levi Roots ... Reggae musican hits the big time with a jerk-sauce and a hit tv cookery program. works for me.

Oh, and Raymond Blanc ... a truly brilliant chef, quite entertaining as a TV personality and his Kitchen Secrets series was excellent..
I've a table booked at his Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons restaurant next week for our wedding anniversary.

Not much for cooking but I do like watching Giada
I also enjoy the fact that she's always cooking over porno music

Antonio Carluccio, because he's a really nice guy and knows the proper way to make a risotto. Unlike Gordon Ramsay.

Aaron Sanchez and Morimoto of the current crop, but I did love watching Graham Kerr and Jeff Smith years ago! Kerr was just so toasted all the time he couldn't help having a good time.
