BASSBALLS BLOG...
Dateline : 3rd May 2010 - Farnborough, Hampshire.... 4:35 p.m.
After lots of hard work, bleeding fingers, searching the streets for PP9's and new strings, the Bass tracks for CREDO's new album have been completed.....
As with previous album RHETORIC,... CREDO used Thin Ice studios in Virginia Waters to get the highest quality sound.
The Technical wizardry came from the fingers of Mix-meister Karl Groom,.... and our own Mike Varty Directed the recording
with much waving of arms and shouting.
Using the original "guide tracks", Martin Meads set a blistering performance on the new tracks, and the first impression is that the drums sound immense, .... then, as you become more acquainted, you recognise touches of finesse and subtlety which high-light Martin as a very capable percussionist.
From what I've heard so far, this will raise the performance bar for all of us,....
I can't talk about my performance, but I believe I've worked harder on this album than at any other time in the last couple of decades...
The successful recording formula for "RHETORIC" saw Mike Varty taking the multiple roles of Producer, Director, Engineer, and Technical wizard have been used again, and this time he even managed to make the odd cup of coffee,.... his patience and gentle prodding was instrumental in getting the very best performances out of both Martin and I.
Starting today, Tim now begins his task of colouring this aural landscape with his own special magic on guitar.
We still have a few weeks to go before we can say everything's in place for final mixing, but even now, it's looking damn good.
