Okay, first things first...

DON'T TELL ME HIS NAME!

Hold on, lemme try this again...

DON'T JUST TELL ME HIS NAME!!!

Okay, there we go.

Basically, I've forgotten the name of the bass player from King Crimson. Bass player/singer for King Crimson (heh). Also, bass player/singer for Asia. Also, bass player (for a little while) for Family.

I COULD look it up...if I wanted to be a quitter. But I don't. Instead, gimme some kind of hint, something to let it JUST sink in, so I can leave the head slapping/embarrassed memories resurgences up to myself. This has been plaguing me for two weeks.

Two...bleedin'...weeks. I feel silly.

He wasn't in Boston too, was he?

This is MADDENING. I can almost see his name in my mind's eye...perhaps I could just slip a small peek at the Larks Tongues in Aspic liner notes...it wouldn't kill me...

Nah. I mean, I'm on THE INTERNET, perhaps the most powerful resource for research since the Library at Alexandria burned down...if I wanted to know like that, hell, I'd just mosey on over to the top ten albums at this very site. Red is probably, what, number seven?

Interestingly, he never played with Wet Wet Wet.

I understand exactly what you mean.  There are times a name is on the tip of my tongue, and instead of looking it up, I'd rather sit and nearly wet on myself just trying to figure it out.

That's the situation I've been in for almost two weeks...I mean, it's been off and on, I ain't wet myself over it yet, but I'm hoping this thread will whip me into shape but quick!
