SAVE YOUR MONEY AND WAIT FOR XBOX 2 (or XBOX 360) WHICH WILL BE OUT BEFORE CHRISTMAS.

Thanks, but an Xbox now is cheaper...aand I need to buy it soon as I'llget cash soon.

Besides, no spare cash at Christmas!

If you just can't wait, the PS2 has a slight edge just by the huge selection and variety of games...but the xbox outperforms PS2 and there's plenty of great games (any game that is on both consoles is clearly better on xbox, IMAO).

Unless they really step up development on PS3, Xbox360 will be out first...and if it supports all the old Xbox games, it will be the one to get. Dude is right, ES4 looks amazing!

I bought all three of the big ones, playstation 2, xbox, and gamecube. And the only one which didnt break down and cost me a bundle to fix (I treat them perfectly, they are just faulty) was the gamecube, so I now only buy nintendo and i suggest the same for anyone who doesnt want to be ripped off.

PS2 deffinately.

Gamecube is also a good choice, but games area slim (at least good games ). But i do like the Gamecube, unlike alot of the people i know.

well, ps2 aganst xbox.. i say xbox is better, it has amazingly good fps and has defenlty the better online play. I ve wasteded many hours playing raibow six!. now to the 2 new consules. the new sweet ;looking xbox IS coming out sooner(unlike when the ps2 came out earlier) and has extremmly good looking graphics and has extremly intreget online options. BUt the ps3 actually has A great deal better graphical enige. You should see the movies at gamespot e3 movies(theyll BLKow your mind!) the pure graphical power and looks of its grapics made my jaw drop (and my heart skip a few beats!) sh*t, this ps3 looks so Good. im a xbox fan now but ill think ill be getting a ps3!

I actually have owned both consoles (twice for the PS2; Hangedman is right, they are notoriously wonky/undurable, especially the earlier models), though I have since sold them. I am a die-hard PC gamer now, but it is much much more expensive to be one. More rewarding though, IMO, since the graphics are better (with a good card), and I like PC-style RPG's infinitely more than the Japanese-style console ones.

I'm a geek.

PS2.

Xbox has some good games, but overall I prefer the PS2.

I am very upset that the Myst Uru game is coming out on Xbox and not PS2. Why did they switch consoles after the first three came out on PS2??!! It was not nice of them...
