Hi folks, Bela here!

My latest tour with African musicians is preparing to start on February 2nd.

This year my guests are from Mali and Tanzania.

Bassekou Kouyate and N'goni Ba feature the Malian banjo, with an incredible 7 piece band.

Anania Ngoliga is an amazing vocalist and thumb piano master from Tanzania.
John Kitime accompanies on guitar and vocals.

We are touring for 6 weeks and doing 33 concerts together, the tour dates are below.

I am also releasing a brand new album to go with this tour.

It is called Throw Down Your Heart, part 2 - Unreleased Tracks

It features 14 great unreleased performances from the same trip to Africa in which I made the Throw Down Your Heart film and CD.

It is also an experiment with releasing music direct to the audience, so it can only be downloaded from BelaFleck.com, or purchased at these shows.

I can guarantee that this tour is going to incredible, these musicians are not to be missed!

See you out there!

Bela

How awesome would it be if Bela Fleck stole your identity?

Probably not very, but hey.

I'll know if I see a 24k gold-plated banjo on my bank statement.

You're right though.  Bela is just a close personal friend who wished for me to know his itinerary for the next couple of months in case I needed to get a hold of him.

That'd be awesome, haha. Though it would be a farther drive than the ones in Ohio.

You could spell my name right. Wink
I'm considering going to this show, but I think I'm going with one of my friends to see The North Mississippi Allstars/City Champs not long before, so I'm not sure.

And there happens to be a country musician whose name is John Anderson, just to screw things up.  i.e. the ears perk up when they hear "John Anderson is coming to town" or "John Anderson released a new album" and it turns out it is the country guy.

Folloiw Up From Bela:

Hey Everyone,

We have been having an incredible time on this Africa Sessions tour.
Concerts have been packed and people are leaving feeling very happy.
My guests Anania Ngoliga and John Kitime(Tanzania), and Bassekou Kouyate and Ngoni Ba(Mali) have turned out to be wonderful touring partners and are lighting up crowds across the United States.

Earlier this month I releases 14 new tracks from my trip to Africa. I decided to try it this time with no record label as a middle-man. This time you can get the music as a digital download from my site, and so far you can only get the actual CD only at the shows.
It's kind of an experiment!

It will be available on iTunes soon, but for now it's only up on my site.  Visit www.BelaFleck.com where you can download the album in full quality including a special digital booklet that won't be available on iTunes or any other store.  If you already have the album make sure to go to www.throwdownyourheart.com/unreleasedtracks for even more photos and information on the album.

All the best to you and yours,
Béla

Yes, it is the banjo player buried deep down within me.
