By the way you can take the question to be about music, prog music, or your life in general if you want.

May odd acquaintance be forgot and never brought to life...

Ermm... right down the middle, I guess.

Got a job closer to home recently, good, which meant losing some great collegues, less good. My dad had a stroke, bad, but it made me closer to my family.

Times were kinda hard financially, but I started a couple of interesting projects that don't require money.

I kinda made getting better in my mind and body (yeah, a cheesy thing to say, I know) a focus too, so I guess it's good, but it came at the price of ending an 8-year relationship.

Certainly an interesting year that might lead to an even more interesting 2010.

Wasn't freaking awful, but could've been a lot better so I voted other.

Well can't say best of my life because, well how can I know if it was the best year?
So I voted not too shabby.

Hate to get all sappy and real...but honestly I had a f*cking great year!
Why?
Nothing great, or even out of the ordinary happened.
But, I have a family and friends who love me. We have all been of fine health. We have money, a house, food, all the essentials and some fun stuff. Sh*t happened, but NOTHING that has happened to me comes close to being a major problem...there are people who are living in extreme poverty, little food, shelter, war torn areas. People living under opressive governments. People who struggle every day.

My year has been great. And I try to never forget it...

I want to say that it sucked, but really I can't. I became a stronger leader this year and have shown myself what I'm capable of. I've had bad moments, but it's all been in the sacrifice for personal growth. Hopefully next year I can still improve upon myself to live better. Isn't that what we're all aiming for?

I voted fourth option. Maybe I should have done the third, but I've had some huge crap to deal with. If I had to pick a great year so far for myself 2007 would have been it.

Best Year Of My Life

1)found my girl

2)found this site

3)made my final exams (high school)

4)entered university studies

5)found so many great albums and finally get some knowledge in music

There's a point where "avant-garde" and "experimental" becomes "terrible" and "pointless,"

It's been a so-so year for me, better than a few of the recent years.

2009 saw the birth of my second child, so it was a great year just for that.

I can say the same thing, but 2009 would've been a lot nicer if she'd come out with a few bags full of money.  LOL

What was the middle part? Tongue

Not to be too much of a bummer, but I had one of the worst years I can recall.  Let's see: hospitalized twice, pay cut due to lack of projects, old dog died, flooded out of house, truck transmission and engine had to be replaced due to flood damage.

Oh crap, is that a plague of locusts I see approaching from the distance?  These frogs and bloody waters are about to drive me nuts. LOL

Once I lose my sense of humor about life all is truly lost.

On the bright side I was promoted to the crossover team. Big smile  I still have my health, my wife, my cat, and I did pull out my truck from the waters at the last moment, my CD and music DVD collection came out mostly unscathed.

Not Too Shabby.  One thing I really liked about this year was exploring more Prog, and finding this site.  However, it's still not over, and something very good might happen today.Smile
