Supertramp for me. I like ELO but not as much as Supertramp, all of the ELO albums I've heard are not even nearly as good as Crime of the century or Even in the quietest moments.

In the end the love you take is equal to the love you made...

ELO just. On the Third Day and El Dorado are just magnificent.

Tough to choose - both bands put out magnificent classics, and both ended up dropping turds toward the end of their careers.  Good poll!

I went with Supertramp because I still listen to Breakfast in America and especially Famous Last Words once and a while.  The only ELO I ever play anymore is El Dorado.

Also because Jeff Lynne completely embarrased himself with Secret Messages and Balance of Power; Supertramp laid a deuce with Free as a Bird but at least they had the excuse that their best creative talent had left the band by then.

ELO is one of those bands I simply cannot choose a favorite anything from...I could compile a list of 20 or more songs that I love.

Supertramp are as good as any prog band out there.

In my youth Crime Of The Century was right up there with Dark Side Of The Moon. Those two album covers were seen everywhere almost. Supertramp was a very popular band in Canada long before Breakfast In America which i'm not a fan of. I've never gotten into ELO.

Hmmm.  Interesting poll.  I liked both bands for their first few years.  Disliked them for producing commercial rubbish later on and now have come to enjoy their early output again.

ELO produced the best Beatles tribute song in 1057635922 overture which is quite magnificent.  Supertramp produced a lot of really good stuff up to and including Crime of the Century .

A draw I think so no vote.
