Ever been curious what a Fripp - Wetton - Phil Collins trio would sound like?

Well now we can find out:

In the run up to the rehearsals for the recording of Exposure, Robert Fripp sat in a studio with Phil Collins on drums and his old sparring partner in Crimson, John Wetton on bass. The trio can be heard on four different versions on one song entitled Disengage. These instrumental work-thoughs show us quite a lot about how the piece grew and would eventually develop for Fripp's Exposure album. 4 tracks for $2 featuring Fripp, Collins & Wetton! What are you waiting for?

What is there really to say?

This is a priceless relic for every King Crimson fan, especilly of the 73-74 lineup! The track(s) have a strong Larks' Tongues in Aspic part II-vibe with a great deal of interesting drum fills from Phil Collins that sound like a vast shift in direction from Bill Bruford-style. This can probably be considered the last recording of Robert Fripp playing an electic guitar without any Frippertronics or other effects. Remmember that this is actually 5 December 1977!

I would rate it as "Excellent addition to any prog rock music collection" for an avarage progressive rock fan who is not necesserily a fan of King Crimson. The release is short and the price is cheap so it's definitely worth purchasing.

I would actually go as far as rate it above "Essential" for every fan of King Crimson since this is an importaint piece of the bands history that must not be missed! Wink

^ Excellent, thanks!

Did it come with an "album cover"? You could add it on Fripp's discography as "Official singles, EPs, Fan Club & Promo" but I don't know whether that's possible without a cover image.

I've got to take the time and find it in my budget to get more from DGM. They are very generous when it comes to freebee downloads.

Wow, that's unexpected... but it sounds very interesting indeed.
