Because my beautiful wife did the original artwork throughout, and it's an interesting cover. (Although no where near as interesting as the one above!

With a beautifull inner sleeve
Even Nice if yo have the lp with the second halve of this drawing on the back
Same as the one above
Very nice cover, the music was a bit of a dissapointment though
Might not be very progressive

FOABP - Porcupine Tree, Very Simple, but that makes it a great one.
Genesis - Nursery Cryme
WYWH - Pink Floyd, the shaking machine hands are a really nice cover, the original cover with the flaming man isn't very special though, IMO.
Tool - Lateralus, the different pages of the booklet make you look deeper into the man's body, very original.
Caravan - In The Land Of Grey And Pink
King Crimson - ITCOTCK, very frightening.
VDGG - Pawn Hearts
Peter Hammill - The Silent Corner And The Empty Stage
Radiohead - Ok Computer, an image that perfectly fits with the sound of the album.
But, the best cover of all-time must be:
Rush - Permanent Waves

I'm a fan of some of the above, but I think these capture the mood of the albums beautifully:
Explosions In The Sky - 'All Of A Sudden I Miss Everyone'
Maudlin Of The Well - 'Part The Second'
 Efterklang - 'Parades'
Godspeed you Black Emperor! - 'Yanqui U.X.O.'
 Neurosis - 'Times Of Grace'
That'll do for now...

Hi,
You need to get the "Album Cover Book" and then the Roger Dean book ... both have the greatest collection of album covers ever ...
Hint: You must get the 12x12 book ... so you can see these in their glory.
Missing on this list of awesome covers:
Amon Duul 2 - Wolf City
Capability Brown - Voice
Flash - (the first album and the second album ... too bad the music wasn't as nice looking!)
Pink Floyd - Meddle -- Ummagumma is the perfect MC Escher cover too!
In general, Hipgnosis has the greatest history of covers. However that is also saying that there were not good covers out of San Francisco and the Haight-Ashbury days, including the artists around the Fillmore scene.
Another set of artists are the ones around Frank Zappa ... excellent covers all around.
You can really see the change for paint/draw to the mixed media and eventually the computer graphics ... it is an impressive collection of art ... and should be "art history" of the 20th century!

Wow, amazing choice keiser willhelm! I hadn't seen that before.
Battle Circus - The Half-Light Symphony (Not just favorite cover but quite possibly favorite album.) Stabbing Westward - Darkest Days Dream Theater - Metropolis 2: Scenes From A Memory Nine Inch Nails - Year Zero (Creepy and kinda frightening. Or maybe it's just because I followed the story that went along with it. Either way it's cool.) Neutral Milk Hotel - I n The Aeroplane Over The Sea (This cover stuck with me long before I ever heard the album.)
