Two mails to Repertoire Records about this remained unanswered - so maybe someone here cares?

Is the edition

        RENAISSANCE
ASHES ARE BURNING (Mini-Vinyl Paper-Sleeve Version)
    REP5078 (2006)

different from REP 4575 (1995)? I mean soundwise.

Is it newly remastered or has it just another cover?

Thank you.

Peter

I have the mini-lp sleeve (REP 5078)and although it's on Repertoire "Special & Limited Editions" selection that were supposed to be remastered i can't find information in the inside with details of where, who or when did the remastering work, so canīt tell you.

Anyway the cd has a great sound, and the artwork is as the original UK vynil (including lyrics and a small history of the band, as well a s a different photo on the cover with Annie smiling instead of being so serious as in the USA version).

very sorry it's newly and worse remastered. the old edition was much closer to the analogue original.

they tried to improve the arrangement what they never should do. all in all heights are much emphasized. they de-emphasized the bass guitar massively.

I generally dislike emphasizing or de-emphasizing of instruments in remastering process.

I'm going to sell the CD on Amazon.

I am sorry I cannot answer the quation, but Ashes are Burning is another underrated progressive rock album which deserves a mention on this site. Renaissance were inconsistent and this possibly mitigated against them.
