Neither did I, but that's beyond the point... His songs were all over the radio, and his videos were shown at every time of the day and night on TV. And Thriller was an excellent album, pop or not.

RIP Michael.  Regardless of the freakshow his life had been lately (say the last 20 years), the guy put out several albums (Off The Wall, Thriller, to a lesser extent Bad) that forever changed pop music.  Among other things, to have Eddie Van Halen show up on an R&B album was a pretty bold move.
Can you tell me where we're headin'?
Lincoln County Road or Armageddon.

sad news is this. Michael Jackson made one of the best pop music, if not the best .  he was kinda freak , but music is the one that counts,  not his acts
