I belong to a few other music related sites / forums including one or two progressive rock focused (about time I found my way here). My fav music is mostly in and around this genre someone called prog rock (although I believe this type of music is at its best when it crosses & mixes styles).  I love a lot of classic prog like Genesis (all eras), Camel, Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd, Crimson, UK etc. Thumbs Up

Of what I'll call the 2nd wave I love It Bites (new album is superb) & early Marillion (still like some later stuff)

Of the newer bands I highly rate The Reasoning (great power), Mostly Autumn (some excellent moments) and Dead Heroes Club (great sound / songs and promise in this band )

So I look forward to some stirring but always( I hope) friendly exchangesWink
'I Know What I Like' and it's good music, well written and delivered with passion!!

Welcome aboard :-)

From the sound of it, you should find a lot of artists here that should interest you, with neo prog, crossover prog and symphonic prog the subgenres that might yield most bands of interest :-)

many thanks, I'm always on the look out for new exciting music and hope to get inspiration here, I only found out about Kevin Gilbert though a website not so long ago, what an artist! The Reasoning & Dead Heroes Club too are CDs in my collection also thanks to forums so I hope the same experience will befall me hereSmile Cheers

Welcome Mark

May I recommend you listen to some Pendragon ?

Very good Neo-prog, in the spirit of Marillion's Season's End

Welcome to the PA's!
