I have thought about this in the past. I have seen some big bands from the 80's play county fairs ie:Huey Lewis and the News. ZZ Top played a state fair a few years back. Heart is playing a state fair this year.

Hi,

Didn't vote ... didn't see the point ... but a lot of it has to do with each individual band ... if they bring their own sound man it will be fine ... if not ... forget it ... they will sound terrible and the chances of a concert being really good kinda go down hill some ... and very few bands can adjust from that and still pull it off.

When one is "comparing" what they sound like to the hit song ... then in a Fair or some such place, in general they will not sound good ... but then you can see many films and you can not tell me that The Who, !0 Years After and others did not sound good at Woodstock ... just not true ... some people know how to sound good and adjust themselves to it ... and they will be good!

The one sad thing ... many of these are just trying to grab one last dime before they slip away ... and I have to tell you ... that is not a fun thing to see. At least for me.
