My band (well sort of band) is thinking of recording some things soon, and I am looking for a nice set of inexpensive, durable, and easy to use set mic's.  Any sugestions?

It depends where you are in the world (£280 approx) but these are reletavley in-expensive and work well in both a live and studio environment.

Failing that, you could get by with some second hand stuff like a Shure SM57 on the snare, an AKG D112 for the kick drum and a couple of Rode NT1's as overheads. This set up has worked well for me in the past and as long as you know how best to place them, you should get some good results.

Hope this is of use.
