Topic: Downloading TV Series Posted: May 13 2009 at 04:42 |
Just wondering: Lately I've been downloading some Episodes of British and US TV Series I like. As these have originally been recorded during transmition, as can be seen by the station logos in a screen corner, is this an infringement of copyright? After all, I could have taped them off the TV itself.
Anyone versed in this minefield area of legal dung?

You could just google this you know. About 2 seconds of my time going to google.com and asking this question revealed a heck of a lot of results on this same topic that would have answered this question.

^^ It's not legal, especially in Germany. Here's what I use:
http://www.lovefilm.de You can rent DVDs and even Blu-Ray discs ... they not only have a better quality than the typical illegal downloads, but also the advanced features of DVDs - such as configurable audio tracks/subtitles and bonus material. |

OK cheers.
@Petrovsk: Glad to hear that at least you’re able to get reliable information out of that mountain of information garbage you find in Google, especially on that subject. Thousands of pages written by tens of thousands of knowledgeable experts, most of them barely able to express themselves coherently and (I suspect) barely out of nappies (or diapers?).
Jeezus, I've been reading some of your comments, and I wonder if you've ever considered anger management courses? Possibly as an instructor?

Fortunately some studios are offering their episodes for free ... here's an example:
http://southparkstudios.com @Harry: Sorry, I guess they're still not available in Australia ... |
