Topic: Favourite Hiromi record?? Posted: May 11 2009 at 21:16 |
All of them are terrific records , the synths on both Kung Fu World Champion are quite horrible but that's just one little spot on such an artist.

I'm going to go with Time Control as my favorite, but they're all so good. Her duet with Chick is amazing as well. Definitely one of my favorite artists on PA. <_< and I quite like Kung-fu World Champion.

I think those synths are MEANT to sound cheesy. Hiromi is too sensitive a pianist not to realise that. At the same time, the piece is irresistibly funky.

Probably Time Control, but I need to refine my opinion with more listens. What an amazing artist, so glad to have her here at PA.

Ahh I've just recently started listening to Hiromi in the past few weeks. Amazing stuff that's right up my alley. I only have Brain, Time Control, and the Duet, all are amazing. The Duet album is really something else. I might get to see her in early July, can't even wait! They seem mindblowing live from what I've seen on youtube.
And I like the synths! IMO they work very well where she uses em. Though I do prefer her acoustic side, better showcase of her talents. Tracks like Kung-fu World Champion also gives her music a more dynamic and unique edge (though all of it is unique).
