Topic: Schlagerns Mystic Posted: April 14 2009 at 16:41 |
I may be mistaken, but I believe the track listing given for Zamla Mammaz Manna's Schlagerns Mystic in the archives is actually the track listing for the För Äldre Nybegynnare/Schlagerns Mystic combo (dics 2 being För Äldre Nybegynnare).

I don't have the album, but it's pretty clear GO is correct - the listing there should be for the single album only. The track listing probably reflects a 2-for-1. The track listing for CD2 is identical to that of the single album entry for För Äldre Nybegynnare.

Hmm. Well, there's a bit of confusion on how to list these albums, it seems. Some stuff definitely needs altering.
Schlagerns Mystik and For Aldre Nybegynnare were originally released simultaneously as two separate albums with a dotted line down the middle, inviting the listener to cut them apart. Thus they are distinct albums, NOT a double album as such, and each has a different focus (the first is studio recordings whilst the latter are live improvisations). However, the fact remains that they were RELEASED as a double album. Hence the confusion.
Now, why on earth For Aldre Nybegynnare is listed as being released in 1977 (the two were released in '78 if my CD copy's anything to go by) I really can't quite understand. So that ought to change.
Secondly, as Orgo has already pointed out, the tracklisting on Schlagerns Mysik has also included the tracklisting for the other album as a "second disc" which, whilst accurate (in the sense that the CD release packages them as a double album) is rather confusing when the album's listed seperately.
My advice would be to simply remove the tracklisting for the "second disc" on Schlargerns Mystik and include a note on both entries regarding their "double album" release status.
Also, the listing for Schlargerns Mystik is misspelt. Somebody needs to stick an "h" in there.

Smashing. Thanks for that! Incidentally, this thread has prompted me to stick For Aldre Nybegynnare on right now. I'm wandering how long it will be before my ladyfriend leaves the room...

I realise this. I'm far too lazy to fiddle about with fancy accents for a forum post, though. And no, I like my signature. It is my friend.
