Topic: Progressive Rock jam near Toronto!! Posted: March 23 2009 at 22:01 |
A progressive rock jam (that's right!) has been going on every Sunday since Feb. 8th at Timothy's Pub in Etobicoke (344 Browns Line, Etobicoke, ON, T: 416-201-9515.) 8 pm until midnight.
It is hosted by Druckfarben (www.myspace.com/druckfarben) who have been playing songs from Yes, Genesis, Gentle Giant, King Crimson and others for the past year around Toronto. We've had amazing participation from local musicians who have been playing along with the house band and adding to our repertoire - Rush, Max Webster, Uriah Heep, Jethro Tull - just to name a few.
This Sunday, the 29th, a Genesis tribute band from Hamilton called "Seven Stones" will be opening the night, playing tunes from the Gabriel-era of the bands history.
After the 29th, the jam will be every other week so as to give the house band time to learn new material to keep the jam fresh!
We hope all of the Toronto area prog fans and musicians can make a point of making out to this event every other week. Hope to see you there.
Will Hare Druckfarben.
