Hej Znaram - thanks for the link - helps me follow up my interest in Swedish prog.  Any tips on tracking down Landberk recordings welcome - I'm split between Edinburgh/Goteborg so perhaps you can recommend a record shop in Gbg (other than the usual) where I might be successful. 
 
You'll know better than me, but my understanding is that the term 'prog' to a Swede isn't necessarily the same thing as Prog to the rest of us, at least for non-proggers.  While there are many excellent Swedish bands who are 'prog' in PA.com terms, many of my Swedish friends would think of the term Prog referring to agit-rock, by which I mean highly political, protest-rock music; more National Teatern than Anglagard perhaps, or is that distinction no longer relevant?

I'd say it is very relevant. The term Progg refers to both the progressive rock we talk about here on the forums AND the anti-establishment, left-wing protest rock/punk that were just as important. Just a word of warning.

Nationalteatern
Hoola Bandoola Band
are two examples of what most Swedes will think when they hear "progg/prog"

Where's Jonas Hellborg? If the Johansson brothers' jazz rock fusion is included, then its is major omission to leave their mentor out (e.g. The two Jonas Hellborg Group albums, the self-titled and e, under the name The Shining Path the precise thrash metal of No Other World, etc. etc. etc.). Hellsong are worth a mention because of their unusual (indeed unique) treatment of familiar metal tunes, for instance on their album Hymns In The Key 666. Similar sounding Swedish group (sophisticated folk prog rock) is Paintbox who have come out of Isuldur Banes

Aye, this is very anoying when trying to explain what you like and accidentaly saying Prog instead of Progressive-rock. Everyone think you mean something else.
