The perfectionist. Along with Aronofsky I think he is the best "young" director out there. I won´t vote as I´ve yet to see Benjamin Button (counting the days for it´s release), but from the ones I have seen I go with Fight club

Fincher is easily one of the most talented modern directors. Fight Club, Seven and Zodiac are all pure gold, imo.
I've yet to see Benjamin Button (seems extremely interesting), but for now, my vote goes to Fight Club.

My pick. And yeah, I've just looked at the reviews on IMDB  Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear, why do people hate this movie so much? It's grim and it's gory, what more could one ask for from an Alien movie?

No, it's a bad movie. It's just not Fincher's fault.
Right now, I'd rank his stuff as follows:
1. Se7en
2. Zodiac Director's Cut
3./4. Fight Club/The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (can't decide yet)
5. The Game
The rest of his stuff isn't that great.

Seven gets my vote, and then Fight Club.
I loved the Game the first time I saw it. Then later on second viewing it seemed a bit dated. Alien 3 wasn't bad, but i guess Fincher wants nothing to do with it. Didn't like Panic Room that much and have yet to see Zodiac and don't have too much interest in Forest Gump 2.

Only saw 3 of these movies. Fight Club being my favorite. Alien 3 was not the worst of the Alien movies, but did place right where the name says it should. The worst is of course the one with Bill Paxton freaking out and screaming, "Game over man, game over!" , ugh!
I have to go against the grain though on Seven. I found it to be completely predictable, despite attempts at being obtuse. Probably the worst acting job by Brad Pitt, who I usually think is a quality actor. I was PO'd after watching that thing.

I don´t think he acts badly all the way thru the movie, just at the end "What´s in the booox?...Oh nooo... my wifes head, damn... oh, noo... what a shame" jejeje

Yesterday I saw The curious case of Benjamin Button. It´s easy to see why some dislike it yet I can´t say I´, one of them. Loved it! Excellent movie, visually stunning, great acting, probably the best and most sober CGI effects I´ve ever seen and with a great story, sad and beautiful. My only complain goes to Eric Roth, who uses some ideas already explored in Forrest Gump (the hummingbird is just the same as the feather in FG, but here it feels out of place). Slow but never boring, this marks a new level of maturity for Fincher, which was already evident with Zodiac. I don´t know if it´w his best movie yet, I think that title still goes to Fight Club, but it is right up there and most certainly the best movie to come out since There will be blood and No country for old men.
If you like unusual love stories, such as The Fountain, Mulholland drive and True Romance, you might like this one very much.

Fight Club is one of my fave movies and the reason, along with American History X, Edward Norton is my fave actor...

Without a doubt it´s Eric Roth´s cliches, which he already used in Forrest Gump, the down part of the movie. The humminbird, the easy tear-jerking scenes... luckily mr Fincher knew how to turn some of those things down a bit. In fact I find it funny how somebody like Roth (who is way too emotional and sentimental) worked with Fincher (who is seen as a cold, purely technical director) but if this movie had been made by, lets say Zemekis or Spielberg, then it would have suffered a LOT...
PS: I don´t agree whit what "they" say about Fincher
