uncover your innermost prejudices.......

https://implicit.harvard.edu/implicit/demo/

Can a five-minute online test tell whether you are ageist or not? In the US, two million people have taken one and now a UK version is available.

Ageism is a reality encountered every day in Britain, but how many people actually consider themselves ageist?

It's difficult to be sure because people's true feelings are inevitably concealed by their politeness. So much so that those who harbour prejudice sometimes cannot admit it even to themselves.

But a five-minute online test (see Internet link, above), devised by American academics and newly launched in Britain, promises to strip away the veneer of respectability many people hold on to, and plunder the prejudices we harbour in the unconscious. The result - a truer picture of one's attitudes.

Click the first box for ageism or if you are really brave click the third for racism

And yes,Peter,Heathy,Fragile and Easy can take part too.....Wink

well did the racist test,

Your data suggest a strong automatic preference for White relative to Black

I guess i'm a racist afterall.

No, I think everybody is a racist, we don't want to, but we are.

Intelligence and self-knowledge is the first step in overcoming those primary "bad" emotions.

If you know you are a racist, you can use that knowledge to not let it take control of your actions

I've seen better tests presented as light entertainment. Talk about leading questions!

Automatic moderate for white (Guess I have at least some racist feelings)

slightly for young (Well that's normal)

What I wonder is...how do they determine accuracy? I mean, the point of the test is that people often conceal their true feelings. You may as well be hitting buttons at random, or consciously trying to affect the results- there's no way to correlate. So how do you ever know when the test is correct?

LOL, I'm just mad because they wouldn't allow me to classify "Nasty" as a good thing.

The test logic is faulty. It is like any game, the longer you've been playing it the more automatic it becomes. Therefore the results for the first few tests are less likely to be accurate.I definitely did not associate any of the faces with any of the emotions, just treated it as a speed accuracy test.Confused

Of course the test is invalid, it's stupid and probably thought up by some juvinile delinquents in a rehabillitation program.

It was fun doing though, I tried some other tests, and cheated (random pressing of buttons) made the outcome more fun

I like to see Michael Jackson's test results for both the age as for the race test.
