Just thought I'd let you know that Robert Fripp is
apparently opening for Porcupine Tree for three of the US dates. This
news courtesy of The Porcupine Tree website and Elephant Talk (the King Crimson fan site).
The dates are as follows: June 9 San Francisco - Fillmore June 10 Los Angeles – The Wilshire Theater June 11 Anaheim -- The Grove of Anaheim |

You took the words right out of my mouth Gentle Ronnie.
Still, given Fripp's unpredictability, I guess this is right on form. |

It's rediculous. Fripp is a genius. PT are average

Well, Crimson supported Tool, I suppose this is in the same ballpark. Maybe Steve Wilson and Fripp have or are working with one another on some project. Anybody know? |

Unfortunately, yes, Crimson *did* support Tool.
It took a little of the edge off when Maynard said they should be the ones supporting Crimson, but... IF THEY FELT THAT WAY, WHY DIDN'T THEY JUST DO IT!? |

The tune "Burning Sky" is not average. PT is capable of tectonic rock. Don't miss out! |

Fripp will only be playing soundscapes, so don't expect a RED or LTIA part II crashing into your ears. That said, soundscapes are MAGNIFICENT! especially live!! The only thing to worry about (I'm talking to Fripp now!) is that there is a big chance Fripp will be booed at! Fripp opened with a soundscape set for the last G3 tour (with Steve Vai and Joe Satriani) and EVERY night he was yelled at...Fripp must have an elephant skin! He is my favorite prog guitarist. |

because KC cant draw a crowd like Tool can. As for PT being called average, have you even heard 99% of music? just because some of the big prog bands of the 70's are better doesnt make them average. |

I wouldn't say 'average', but I'll wager almost any amount of money on King Crimson being much more recognized (here in the US, especially) than PT. That said, it IS solo Fripp rather than King Crimson. He probably feels he has more freedom to do whatever he likes when he's not the headliner. I just wish I hadn't heard that KC opened for Tool...I have nothing against Tool, it just doesn't seem fair somehow. |

I would kill to see Fripp & PT - why can't they do it here ? Fripp & Sylvian a few years ago at the Albert Hall was awesome ( why can't we have a spell check on forums ?). Crimson are to die for, brutal, technical, innovative, perfect. |
