Hello everybody!
My name's Derek Murphy. I'm a student at the University of Rochester. The U of R has a pretty nice radio station, WRUR, and I've now got an hour-long show on it called "Buried in Green" (named after a line in Porcupine Tree's song "Drown With Me").
Buried in Green is a home for strange, eclectic, and artistic music of all genres, with a heavy focus on psychedelic rock, progressive rock, and acid folk. It aims to sound like a synesthesiac's daydream.
When and where? 1:00 AM to 2:00 AM Thursday nights/Friday mornings on WRUR 88.5 FM, or www.wrur.org
The show broadcasts to all of Rochester, and some surrounding towns in the up-state New York area (though I'm not sure which). If you don't live close enough to catch the broadcast with your radio, then you can visit www.wrur.org and click the "listen online" button to check it out.
I'll be playing a whole lot of music on this website, and a whole lot of music off of it. There will be some music that's so unknown that it's quite likely nobody else on this site knows about it. It'll all be of top quality.
So if you're free tonight at 1 AM, or any other Thursday night, feel free to check it out!
Thanks,
Derek Murphy
