If you ever went to Chalk Farm Roundhouse, the Marquee, Windsor or Glastonbury you must remember... Jesus!

You know, the stick-thin guy in the loincloth who'd 'groove' away to the dj, let alone the bands. In the seventies, no Hawkwind/Man/Fairies gig was complete without him. Sometimes he had a tambourine, but always a loincloth and sandals, hence the obvious connection to Our Saviour. He often got rounds of spontaneous applause and I remember Larry or someone from the Fairies dedicating a track to him. Can't remember which one but Uncle Harry's Last Freakout would have been appropriate, I guess.

An old girlfriend reckoned he even danced sans loincloth occasionally, but I never had the dubious pleasure  of witnessing this. There was a rumour he often got in for nothing at the Roundhouse because of the entertainment value.

If anyone out there remembers this guy please make a post - I can't be the only one can I?
It's not that I can't find worth in anything, it's just that I can't find worth in enough.

Yep, I remember jesus. I even had a picture of him somewhere on my old PC, but lost it in a crash. I'm sure it was at a Pink Faries outdoor gig at Ladbroke grove.

He was always at the big gigs in the early to mid 70's and as you say, he'd be freaking out all on his jacks. I wonder what happened to him.

If it's a 70's Hawkwind gig I rather see Stacia than a guy in a loincloth. Just my preference.

I remember seeing 'Jesus' at Reading festival in 76 & 77 and at a couple Knebworth open air concerts. I also had the unfortunate and extremely dubious pleasure of seeing him sans loincloth - not a pretty sight.
What?

Been there, done that.

Statuesque is the word thatt comes to mind. Physically, I'd estimate she would have made two of 'Jesus', if you see what I mean. Sure made an impression on a 15-year-old lad.
