Only In A Whisper (Trisector): What does it mean?

   English is my second language; and no matter how good you consider your knowledge of a foreign language to be, it always has limits. So I'm here to request of you to please tell me how you interpret the lyrics of the VDGG song "Only In A Whisper" on the Trisector album. I understand that it's about getting old - maybe a man's soliluqey about getting old and his ideas about it and life etc... But I need detail. So if you help me with it I'd really appreciate it. Explanation of each part would be great; am I asking for too much?
