Topic: Joe Heider JAZZFUSION/PROGMETAL Posted: May 12 2008 at 19:22 |
Hello, I am A guitarist/composer who is writing a prog instrumental concept album. So far I have only done demos of the songs in my basement, with just guitar and drums loops. Ths bass and synth sounds you hear are from my boss GT8, so they are also guitar. Please check out my music, especially "the Journey" which is to be the only true PROGRESSIVE song that will be on the album. It is also the only song that will feature voice, in the form of a spoken word passage. Please check out my composition and let me know what you think. Comments are greatly appreciated!

Hey there Joe, So because you mentioned it in your post, I went straight to The Journey, and I gotta say it was a nicely laid out song with a lot of cool influences. You do a nice job with the mix of electronic instruments and also with dynamic changes (heavy sections and soft sections). Probably my favorite part was the switch to the chilled back section starting around 3:20 in The Journey. The other songs are all pretty nice too -- Lunar Wave really caught my attention with some nice playing and a cool groove. I'd say we're pretty similar, being of the same age and having similar interests in music, although I gotta admit your sound quality is far superior to my stuff . Overall I liked it. I'd like to hear what you make during and after college. EDIT: took me long enough to get it right...

Wow, that's what I get for having too many tabs open at the same time . I was listening to your song Lunar Wave but also looking at another band's page on myspace, and got the name mixed up as I was switching around the tabs. Do not fear though, I was talking about your song there...how embarrassing. I'll just go erase that from my previous post...and nobody will know....
