2 Rush albums to be re-released on 180g Vinyl

   Mobile Fidelity SoundLabs, the people behind the recent awesome 180g vinyl reissue of Permanent Waves have confirmed that they will soon also give the same makeover treatment to both Moving Pictures and Signals. 

For anyone who hasn't heard of MOFI they reissue from the original master tapes, sourced from the bands and master to 180g at half speed to ensure accurate groove cutting.

Permanent Waves sounds incredible - with detail way beyond that of the original vinyl press and much better than the CD remaster. If Moving Pictures and Signals sound as good it will be a rare treat and the best treatment of Rush's 'peak of their powers' trilogy. They're expensive at approx £25 each but definitely worth it.

	VERY NICE!!! Though I have all on Vinyl up to . . . Hold Your Fire? And rare EP's too (Missed my chances to get the rare Japanese "Virgin Vinyl" collection in the 80's and, Roll the Bones, Counterparts and Flashback . . . THEY WERE IN MY HANDS!!!! <hits head on monitor>) I have 3 different Moving Picture albums, my fave is the one printed on a very thin Cardboard, but the cover was glossy stock and the original "Red Border" around the front Pic. And the "moving pictures" of the 3 playing their instruments on the Lyric/Sleeve . . . I wish I had that huge promo poster that was released of that image Great pic!

	No $10k deck but a modded LP12 and modded RB300 arm. I can tell you that the MOFI Permanent Waves knocks spots off the original even on a middling system like mine. The treble is smoother, but still more defined and the low notes, dear lord! they thunder through the speakers like nothing i've ever heard. I've been listening to Permanent Waves since the day it was released, on cassette, LP and CD, and this MOFI pressing pees all over every other format version I've had. Can't wait to get Moving Pictures and Signals. They are worth it, honest, but you do need a decent deck, arm, cart, phono stage, amp and speakers I'm afraid.

	Well, I recently purchased the Metallica - Ride the Lightning remaster (also by mobile fidelity) and it sounds horrible. I'm not sure if it's an issue with the one disc I purchased or a general problem though.

	For me . . . Its just for my collection, I still collect Vinyl (especially EP's) for Rainbow, Yes and Rush. By the way MikeEn, back in the 80's at a Heavy Metal Store, I held in my hand about "20"(!!!) copies of the "Green Tinted" Metallica-Ride the Lightning Lp's . . . and didn't even BUY one
