Topic: Bowie... Posted: March 06 2008 at 00:17 |
Ok. I'm sure this has been done before but I just heard this artist's career and I can't but agree with those in favor of his name for prog-related. I know prog related is not a priority, but the man borders art-rock at times! (sorry, I still favor the old terminology).
If there's an example of prog-pop, that's him. And at times not even so pop but pure art rock.

Teo.... THE SEARCH FUNCTION!!!! There are I don't know how many threads suggesting Bowie for addition... Now I don't have the time to search for them, but if you do, you'll be sure to find even some recent ones.

Bowie yet again? Are we out of fresh prog( gier) music that we are recurring on Bowie? Sure he's an Art Rock great personality. But Art Rock, here, had and has an additional meaning. The progressive one.

I don't know about Bowie. Musically, he's probably the most hit-or-miss artist I like next to Tom Waits. I like "Space Oddity", the instrumental songs from Low and Heroes, and the song "Sunday" from Heathen.
Prog-related might work, though.

This is the link to the most recent Bowie thread:
Vic, I know and understand your point of view, but there are MANY people on this forum who think Bowie should be included - that should mean something. Because so many support his additions, threads and polls of this kind will crop up with regularity until a decision is made. Personally, not being an expert (though of course I've heard quite a lot of DB's music over the years), I trust other people's judgment on the matter.
