Just 16, started listening to prog mid-last year - so really not very long at all.

Not in any order - Jethro Tull, Yes, Genesis, Gentle Giant, VDGG, Tool, Led Zeppelin, Mr. Bungle, Pink Floyd, King Crimson, ELP, Zappa, Primus, Tangerine Dream.... lots of stuff. But only a few of those I'm huge about, like Jethro Tull and Yes. And you?

Started listening to prog in 1977, aged 11, after hearing my mate's dad's copies of Yessongs, DSOTM and Relics, and all the Queen LPs up untill ADATR.

My fave bands, off the top of my head and in no particular order:

aged 11 -16yrs: Yes, Floyd, Focus, Genesis, Wakeman, Sky, Tull, Dave Greenslade, Steeleye Span. Fairport Convention.

aged 16-19: The Enid, Hawkwind, Hear and Now, Gong, Hillage, Gabriel, The Enid, Gryphon, GG, Roy Harper, Tangerine Dream, Klause Schultz, J.M. Jarre, The Enid, Weather Report, Joni Mitchell (with Jaco), Miles Davis, Linton Kwesi Johnson, did I mention The Enid?

aged 19-38, All of the above plus far too many to mention, (from many different genres, though I'll always be a prog head first and foremost). Deserving a special mention are Led Zep, and the Ozrics. Currently listening to Porcupine Tree. Trying to get a taste for it as they're playing in the Dam in 2 weeks. It's not bad.

Back to the topic (sort of), what about your favourite concept album SET in space? After no consideration what so ever , and in spite of my love of Hawkwind, I'm going for Klaatu's "Light House Keeper".

Prog is definitely influenced by outer space...

But what is this planet EARTH I keep hearing about?
