SCULPTURED - Embodiment
I received a promo of this album but have only now had time to give it a listen. Wow, they have progressed! This is wonderfully prog rock woven into metal form. This is a great way to progress from two previous very good albums. Still on the first listen, but so far, so good. Anyone else heard this? Edited by avestin - January 24 2008 at 19:14 |

So after this listening my impression is that they have climbed a step or two upwards and have really gone for a prog-rock sounds implemented in their metal. This is a great album, and the first candidate for my best of 2008 list. |

I just listened to "Take My Body Apart" on myspace... wow. This is the kind of metal that i like to hear, in which every musician gets a chance to elaborate on a piece. (repetitive shredding in a rapid pace combined with double kick drum spamming and no audible bass line has never appealed to me) I'm still listening to the samples of their older stuff (which is also excellent imo) but their latest track does seem especially technical & progressive.
I think this is some of the better music i've heard so far this year as well. Thanks again |

Oh, hmm. Is this the Sculptured that's a side-project of Agalloch? I remember hearing their first CD some time ago and being much more enamoured with it than anything from the mothership. Thanks for reminding me about the band! I'll check this out soon.

Yes it is the band linked to Agalloch.
I will be sure to check this one out. It has been a long time since they have released a full album, I think I last listened to them in 2000 and this was their album Apollo Ends. Musically I found them more varied than Agalloch, but lacking the more emotional facets. Edited by Black Velvet - January 26 2008 at 05:19 |

Yeah, I agree.
With this one, they manage to change it though (at least somewhat).

Just got back Don Anderson's answers back.
I'll post the interview first in the website that invited the interview, www.sonicfrontiers.net and then I'll post it in the PA Interview section.
Don was very enthusiastic about the interview and answered in an elaborate way. I'm very happy with this interview.
Oh and if you still haven't done so, you must get the new album, Embodiment. It is officially out today!!
GET IT!!! It's a magnificent album!!
11$ for this album is a very good deal!
