 Topic: Best Live Prog/Non Prog CD or LP

Ok people time to sort through those stacks of Vinyl or CD's. What is in your opinion the best live performance captured on CD/Vinyl? I am interested in adding some of the best to my collection.
If the performance is other than prog please add in. I would prefer that "BOOTLEGS" be left out of this discussion as there are so many floating around - many of which are of dubious quality.
So - my all time favourite is Deep Purple's - Made in Japan - hard to top that.
Jethro Tull's " Bursting Out" - is also a favourite....Cheers

King Crimson - The Night Watch is my favourite of their archive live releases, but Absent Lovers and Vroom Vroom are also superb, plus anything from the first line up and even the Boz Burrell/Mel Collins/Ian Wallace combo are represented by a superb live 1971 recording - why Fripp sanctioned the release of Earthbound and sat on that recording for 25 years is beyond me.
Magma have also released some excellent live albums, 'Live Hhai' and 'Retrospektiw 1 - 3' are the pick of the bunch, plus BBC Londres 1973, although that's a session rather than a full blown gig - still live though.

i'm a muse fanboy. you might need to listen to the studio versions first
Pink floyd - pulse
a lot of the songs, (For me) are more atmospheric and all around awesome live

I would have to agree with all your choices. I am a Muse fan also. I have been following them since "Origins of Simitry"(spelling). It is nice to see Pink Floyd's Pulse in there too. I particularly like the live version of TDSOTM. I don't own "Yessongs" - it is on my wish-list but I can well imagine it is awesome

Hi Snowdog - Yep there are heaps and so far it has been interesting to see such variance in tastes and those that come up time and again. I think I have the Camel one on Vinyl in storage in another part of the country and it is not easily accessible  . It is years since I played it but I do remember that it was really really good

No point in adding to the prog live albums,but some classic rock live albums you might consider:
Live And Dangerous - Thin Lizzy
Lizzy's best of and apt as the sum was always better than the parts.Their studio albums were inconsistent at best so a Live "best of" was always going to be a triumph,which it is.
Strangers In The Night - UFO
This is a wonderful album,in my opinion one of the best live rock albums of any genre.Hard rock with keyboards and very melodic.Michael Schenker was replaced on most of the tracks,but the strength of the material shines through.
Blues Alive - Gary Moore
A wonderful guitarist as fast and technically accomplished as any gutarist you could name.A great selection of songs from his blues period and,of course,Parisian Walkways.

Gary Moore is fantastic - I really like his blues period work. "Still got the Blues" is a big favourite.
Thin Lizzy - Great rockers!
UFO - Have some of their live stuff on compilations - I don't know their work that well so another to check out

"P*U*L*S*E" is good, don't get me wrong, but it's missing something:
ROGER WATERS. An even better live FLOYD album is "Is There Anybody Out
There? The Wall Live 1980-81"...
Some other amazing Live albums:
"Seconds Out", "Archives Vol. 1" (has a live version of The Lamb...) and "Live (1973)" from GENESIS
"Plays Live" from PETER GABRIEL
"2002 Meltdown Concert" from DAVID GILMOUR (on DVD)
and just about ANY live release from the boys from Toronto (RUSH)
